It is the return of the FC. Most people thought they would never do another FC/Abington style shoe, but the FC are coming back as a May quickstrike. I always had a soft spot for these, and I will most definately be getting a pair of the dark green ones.

P.S. Laced doesn’t have them yet, and I’m not sure they will get them at all, one of the workers had no clue what I was talking about and another said that they should have been in already, so who knows. But they are out, somewhere.

Here is a quick picture of a possible Nike SB release. There’s not much information on this shoe yet, but this definitely caught my eye with its clean design coupled with some really nice suede work in blue and purple, the light blue sole is a nice touch too. More information upcoming as it becomes available.

This is just going to be a post recapping my experiences with this blog over the past few months. This blog was originally created as part of college assignment to create a blog and cover something relevant to me.  I took this as an opportunity to inject some of my opinion on a lot of the style, fashion and art that I around the city. I had originally intended to cover just local Boston streetwear, but I soon learned that there just wasn’t enough going on all the time to write about. Don’t get me wrong, there are some nice boutiques and shop create some nice products, but Boston isn’t New York and just doesn’t have the same kind of volume of creation that goes on there.  That lead up to me covering related topics like urban art and related local events such as various shoe releases or art exhibitions. I like the freedom of being my own editor, even though I did have to censor my self a little bit due to the nature of the assignment.

 I’m still undecided when it comes to the topic of keeping up this blog, but I will be starting up another blog focusing on music, which may devolve into a combination of music and clothing. As someone who has written websites from scratch back before they had easy to use templates and programs like Dreamweaver, I was somewhat surprised at the simplicity involved with the upkeep of blogs today, just from a technical standpoint. This is especially important because this tendency has sometimes caused my to shy away from certain web development opportunities due to some experiences and frustrations that had become outdated.

I did have a couple experiences where friends were excited about something I had posted, grateful for some info on something they would have ordinarily missed, and at the same time it was nice to have some outside input on some topics, especially since I have an admitted bias towards certain brands and styles. I actually had more fun that I thought making my podcast, and while it may not be a regular thing, I have been considering doing another episode as a way of redemption as I am somewhat embarrassed about the overall poor quality of the first episode. 

 Blogs are definitely a useful tool just for expanding a media base insight onto some lesser known subjects, and provide a good way to inject some personality into current events, something that larger media sources just can’t do, possibly to their own detriment. Like I said I haven’t made up my mind as to what I’m going to do with this blog, but feel free to comment on anything I’ve done so far or even what you might like to see in the future.

It was recently announced the Michael Jordan will be inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in the 2009 class, and this is just a little tribute to what he has done both on the court as the greatest of all time, and off the court with his shoes and clothing and iconic Jumpman branding. Also the above picture shows the unveiling of the new Jordan XXIII, which some people are saying may be the last Jordan ever, although I sort of doubt it.

Here is the first podcast featuring me and my roommate Brian going over some of our favorite shoes and talking about some upcoming releases and other news on the streetwear scene. Please excuse the poor quality and even worse editing, I had some technical difficulties, mostly due to the deteriorating state of my home computers (desktop and laptop). This was also somewhat of a test of the movie mode on my Nikon D90, which did a decent job on the low res setting, but the built-in mic in the camera does leave something to be desired. Note: This was not filmed using the HD setting as I was a little worried about running into certain memory buffer limitations that occur when using the HD setting.

Here are some pictures of some releases were looking forward too. In the video I inadvertently said that the SB Dunk lows were canvas, but they are actually mostly suede and leather, my bad. That just means they’ll probably be easier to keep clean, and anyways the gum sole is really what makes the shoe imo.

And finally here is the crazy Kanye name change video. Another interesting note, apparently due to his recent portrayal on South Park, Mr. West may be having a change of heart as he seemed somewhat humbled, judging from a recent post on his blog, despite the fact that the post was written entirely in caps. This is just a quick post showing a new yeezy colorway, and the only reason I’m mentioning it is because this is my pick for the best so far.

Nike is set with a timely release of some classic Jordan 1s just in time prom and graduation season. Most people would say wearing sneakers to an event like this, but Nike has shown in the past with the SB Avengers that you can rock sneakers with a suit, a great combination of class and style. These two shoes will come in a double pack together, but personally I’m liking the patent black ones a lot better. And for all you local college students, these would be right at home for adding some matching style to that boring Northeastern commencement gown, and  I suppose you BU folks could even work in the white ones too.

I seem to be getting more and more off-topic every week considering this was orginally supposed to just a streetwear blog, but I found an interesting post that had a lot logos from skateboard, surfing, etc. companies. It gives a nice look at the different designs, but you can also see some similarities too. Check out the link below.
